"Early" Services (Prior to Sophomore Year in High School)

When is it too early to start? The answer varies widely by student. Some students may benefit from planning early, even in late middle school. Here are a few examples of our early services leading up to the Core Service steps:

  • Build a multi-year academic plan based on the student’s expected high school and their IB / AP and Honors course availability. While the multi-year plan may change, the goal is to plan early for advanced courses and prerequisites that are suited to the student’s academic strengths and interests. This process would also include early strategizing on test preferences (SAT and/or ACT) and a testing game-plan / timeline.

  • Begin the Student Profile. Begin building the student resume. Look for "gaps" and continue to develop extracurricular interests, study habits, time management techniques or other areas to prepare for admission and promote college success.

  • Begin the Student and Family College Fit Assessment and plan next steps.

The greatest benefit of early planning is more time for students to evaluate options and prepare for the admission process.
